Lovin' on my afresh sand-painted Kawasaki KLR 650 pt. 3
This is my 1994 Kawasaki KLR 650 that WAS Barbie Teal and Purple. I bought it on 4/8/11, and put another couple o' bucks into it making the grand total right around 00. (That includes a helmet, armored jacket, riding pants, and other "farkles" listed below). I got a steal. Here are some of the things I've tossed on (you'll see in the vid, but might as well make a list). -Sprocket cover for on eBay.com -Jacket and pants for 0 from Jafrum.com -Search for "Dual Sport Helmet" on Amazon for the helmet. -Classic Accessories Quad Gear Tank bags on Amazon for ~ -A "Nested" toolbox from Harbor Freight for which I bolted to the rack. Figured it was a TON cheaper than "real" luggage, better than an action packer, and I won't be upset if it gets ruined. Easily installed. Just take off the rack, drill into the box from the holes in the rack, screw it back on, and PRESTO! Cheapo luggage box! Plus, it was nested with 4 other handy toolboxes inside. Caution, though. If you need something to hold your helmet, this won't cut it. -A SWEET marine grade vinyl seat cover that I upholsterer by myself for .50. Took me a grand total of 30 minutes and it's NOT hard. If you are thinking of getting a new seat or getting your seat re-covered, DO IT YOURSELF! Here is a sweet video on how I did it, plus you can do whatever color you want! www.youtube.com -Rust-oleum truck bed liner black paint (for the tank, hand guards, underside of the front fender, and radiator guards ...
